Elementary Strings with Mr. Emory is offered to interested 4th and 5th Grade students. Classes meet 1-2 time(s) a week depending on the annual academic schedule. Elementary Strings class performs 2 times during the school year. Select 5th Grade students may participate in the Pitt County All County Orchestra. Instruments taught in this class: Strings students are required to have the following:

Rising 6th Graders may register for Beginning Orchestra with Mr. Emory. Classes meet 5 days a week. The Beginning Orchestra performs 2 times during the school year. Beginning Orchestra Students may have the opportunity to travel and perform with the MS Orchestra. Instruments taught in this class:

Beginning Orchestra students are required to have the following:

Rising 7th & 8th Graders who have completed Beginning Orchestra may register for Middle School Orchestra with Mr. Emory. Classes meet 5 days a week. The MS Orchestra performs multiple times during the school year. In the spring the MS Orchestra will travel to - and compete in - the Music in the Parks Festival at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg VA. Select students in this class may participate in the Pitt County All County Orchestra Students in this class may audition for Junior Eastern Regional Orchestra (JERO) Instruments taught in this class:

Rising 6th Graders may register for Beginning Band with Mr. Emory. Classes meet 5 days a week. The Beginning Band performs 2 times during the school year. Instruments taught in this class:
Flute - Trumpet Clarinet - Trombone Alto Saxophone - Percussion
Beginning Band students are required to have the following:

Rising 7th & 8th Graders who have completed Beginning Band may register for Middle School Band with Mr. Emory. Classes meet 5 days a week. The MS Band performs multiple times during the school year. A student is welcome to use a family-owned instrument if it is playing condition. Mr. Emory will evaluate the condition of the instrument at the beginning of the year.
A limited number of school-owned instruments may be loaned out each year at no charge. Parents must sign a loan agreement form covering the cost of any repair or maintenance required. Contact Mr. Emory for more information.
