We hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. We are so excited to welcome all of our students back for another fantastic week of learning and growth.

A huge thank you to all the families who were able to join us for Curriculum Night! We also want to give a massive shout-out to our incredible teachers and staff. Thank you for the hard work, preparation, and passion you put into facilitating such insightful and engaging presentations for our families. We are so grateful for you!

Upcoming:

• September 21: RTA Pathways Parent Event 11:45 - 12:45 - This is for the families who have a third grade student. Under North Carolina’s Read to Achieve (RtA) law, all third graders must demonstrate reading proficiency by the end of the year. During this session, we’ll explain what the law means for your student and walk you through the three pathways to success. We’ll share practical ways you can support your reader at home, answer your questions, and discuss how we can work together so every student reaches grade-level reading standards. We look forward to seeing our 3rd-grade families there! If you are unable to come, be sure to check Dojo. We will post the presentation there.     All guests must check in to receive a nametag, at the designated tent outside, at the entrance to the building. (Weather permitting)
     
• September 21 - 25: Spirit Week (Monday PJ Day, Tuesday Sparkles vs. Camo, Wednesday Wacky Day, Thursday Purple and Gold, Friday Holiday Wear)
   
• September 27: Instructional Assistant’s Day - Our students would not be as successful as they are without our dedicated Instructional Assistants! They work tirelessly behind the scenes and alongside our teachers every day to support our students’ learning, keep our classrooms running smoothly, and—for several of our amazing assistants—even drive our school buses to get our students to and from school safely. We would love your help in showing them just how much they mean to our school family. If your child’s classroom has an instructional assistant, please encourage your student to show some extra appreciation this week! Here are a few simple ways to brighten their day:
  • Write a sweet thank-you note or draw a picture 
  • Surprise them with their favorite drink, chips or candy bar 
  • Share a kind word or give them a high-five

A little bit of gratitude goes a long way, and we want to make sure these everyday heroes know just how much they are valued!

 

Additional Information:

• Our Candyman Fundraiser is going on! If your family is able to participate, please do! Candyman is our school’s only general fundraiser that directly produces funds used to support all of our students school-wide. While other fundraisers throughout the year will support specific clubs, teams, or programs, this one impacts every single child. We know every family’s capacity is different, so whether you participate in Candyman, volunteer your time, or simply encourage your child each day, we deeply appreciate all the ways you support our school.
   
• Attention families who pick up students in the car lines during dismissal: Please put your child’s number in your window. You can use the card we provided or you can write their number on paper and display it.
